Carbon Reduction Plan
CloudSource is a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) based in the UK. We have an average of 45 employees and have been committed to reducing our carbon emissions since the introduction of our Environmental Policy in 2018. Although this is the first year we have formally measured emissions, it has still been a key objective of the organisation throughout the last five years.

To provide context for the details below, our organisation is a Professional Services Consultancy business, with our employees working in a hybrid format, both from home and from our offices. We lease a serviced office in Central London, and most of our employees use public transport to get to work. However, unfortunately, the emissions from commuting to work form the majority of our carbon emissions in Scope 3.

CloudSource Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050

Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions refer to the record of greenhouse gases produced in the past, prior to the implementation of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions serve as the reference point against which emissions reductions can be measured.

Baseline year: 2024 - Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions Calculations.

The figures below represent the first year of reporting and are therefore considered our Baseline Emissions Calculations.

Scope 1: 7.6
Scope 2: 0.3
Scope 3 (included sources): 962.0
Total Emissions: 969.6

Emission Reduction Targets
To begin our progress toward achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 770 tCO2e by 2028, which is a decrease of 20.58 per cent.

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been continued since the 2023 baseline:
-
Obtaining ISO 14001 registration - The most recent audit was passed with no Minors or non-conformances.
-
Electrification of company car fleet.
-
Culture change around business travel - support hybrid working for employees and associates.
-
Regular communication with the team to remind them of ways to reduce carbon emissions.
-
Introduction of a Homeworking Environmental Questionnaire.
-
Regular updates to Environmental Policy
-
Sourcing office accommodation from suppliers who match our Environmental Objectives:
-
Energy obtained from renewable energy sources
-
Energy efficiency measures - Implementing energy-efficient practices and equipment, e.g. energy-efficient lighting, high level of insulation in the building and energy-efficient equipment, ensuring this is powered off when not in use.
-
Individually adjustable air conditioning
-
Waste management - segregation of waste and recycling
-
Discouraging use of single-use cutlery items
-

Future Carbon Reduction Initiatives
In the future, we hope to implement further measures, including:
-
Supply Chain Alignment: We plan to choose suppliers who prioritise sustainability and have low carbon footprints themselves. This is already the case with several of our suppliers (e.g. Dell)
-
Offset Emissions: We plan to utilise carbon offsetting schemes that compensate for unavoidable emissions, which will fund projects that reduce CO2 emissions, such as reforestation or renewable energy initiatives.
